Personnel and Human Resources

This course examines personnel practices in county government, as well as the need for an effective human resource system. Participants evaluate the system in their county. Legal issues related to Equal Employment opportunity, Americans with Disabilities Act, Family Medical Leave Act, Fair Labor Standards Act, Workplace Harassment and basic labor law are part of the curriculum that stresses the legal and financial implications of human resource policies.
